How to join

To join the seasonal leaderboard, your PSN ID must be verified on PlatHub. Verification confirms that the profile belongs to you. Follow the steps below to verify your PSN ID and join.

  1. 1Put yesplathub in your PSN About me.
  2. 2Enter your PSN ID on the leaderboard and press Search. That reads your profile, sees the keyword and verifies your PSN ID with PlatHub.
  3. 3Take the keyword back out of your bio if you like. Being verified is remembered, for this season and every one after it, so this is a one-time thing.

Platinums you earned before verifying still count. Verifying proves who you are; it is not a starting gun.

How the scoring works

Season points are ordinary PlatHub Points, counted over the season's dates instead of your whole account. Each platinum is weighed by how few PlayStation players have earned it, so a 0.1% platinum is worth far more than a 40% one. Only the date decides whether a platinum counts at all.

Dates are read in UTC, from the timestamp PlayStation attached to the trophy rather than from your local clock. Season windows sit back to back, so every platinum falls in exactly one season and none falls between two.

The leaderboard is not live. During the season, your profile only updates when someone looks up your PSN ID on PlatHub. If nobody looks it up, your standings stay as they were. At the end of the season, every participant is automatically refreshed to capture the final results.

One badge per season — the highest you reach, not one for every tier you passed. Hunters tied on points share a rank, so two level at the top are both champions.

How a season is settled

When the last day passes, PlatHub walks every verified hunter one more time — for anything earned in the closing hours, and for how rare each platinum finally is. Rarity moves as more players earn a game, so the final table is scored on where things actually stood at the end rather than on figures cached weeks earlier.

Until that pass finishes, a just-ended season's standings are provisional and say so. Once it is done the table is frozen and nothing moves it again.

Questions

What is a seasonal leaderboard?

A ranking that only counts platinums earned inside one stretch of time, rather than everything on your account. The all-time boards reward a collection built over a decade, which is fair but leaves almost nobody able to move. A season starts everyone on nothing and asks a different question: who scored the most in these three months. When it ends the table is settled for good, badges are handed out, and the next season starts over from zero.

How do I join a season?

Put yesplathub anywhere in your PSN About me, then enter your PSN ID on the seasonal leaderboard page and press Search. That is the whole process. You can take the keyword back out of your bio straight afterwards — being verified is remembered, and it stays remembered for every season after this one, so this is a one-time thing.

Why do I have to put a keyword in my PSN bio?

Because it proves the profile is yours. PlatHub has no accounts and no passwords, so anybody can type anybody's PSN ID into this site — that is fine for the all-time boards, where a row is just public trophy data and claims nothing. A season hands out badges, and a badge awarded to a PSN ID a stranger happened to enter would mean nothing. Your PSN About me is the one field only you can edit, which makes it the only place a claim can come from with proof behind it.

Do platinums I earned before verifying still count?

Yes. Verifying proves who you are, it is not a starting gun. Every platinum you earned inside the season's window counts, whether you verified on the first day or the last. So joining late costs you nothing but the time your score was not on display.

How are season points worked out?

Exactly the same way PlatHub Points always are — each platinum weighed by how few players have earned it — just counted over the season's window instead of your whole account. A platinum earned during the season is worth the same as it would be anywhere else on the site. Only the date decides whether it counts.

Which platinums count, exactly?

The ones PlayStation stamped inside the season's dates, read in UTC. The site uses the timestamp PSN attached to the trophy rather than your local clock, so a platinum earned late at night can fall on the next day or the previous one depending on where you are. Season windows are back to back: the last moment of one is the first moment of the next, so every platinum lands in exactly one season and none falls between them.

Why has my season score not gone up?

Because nothing here refreshes on its own. Your score moves when your profile is read, and a profile is only read when somebody uses a tool on it. Build a mosaic or tier list and your season total catches up. Search refreshes new and existing profiles using the same caches as the mosaic. Cached data is reused until it expires. This is the same arrangement the all-time boards use, and it is why the site can stay free without an account system.

What happens when a season ends?

PlatHub walks every verified hunter one more time, after the last day, and rescores them — both for anything earned in the closing hours and for how rare each platinum finally is. That final pass is what the table is settled on. Until it finishes, the standings you see for a season that has just ended are still provisional and the page says so.

Why would my score change after the season is over?

Rarity moves. A platinum gets more common as more people earn it, so what a game is worth is not fixed. The closing walk reads every rarity fresh after the window shuts, so the final table is scored on where things actually stood at the end rather than on numbers cached weeks earlier. Once that pass is done the table is frozen and nothing moves it again.

What do I get for finishing high?

A badge on your profile, kept permanently. The top three each get their own, and there are badges for finishing in the top 10 and the top 100. A season badge is never taken away — later seasons cannot cost you one, and neither can anything you do or do not earn afterwards.

Can I take my profile off a seasonal board?

Yes. Put noplathub in your PSN About me and look up your PSN ID in the mosaic tool. That removes you from everything on this site — the seasonal boards, the all-time boards and your profile page — and it sticks even if somebody else looks your PSN ID up afterwards.
